A Call to Serve with Purpose
Connection Point Church has been my home since I was 12 years old. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that CPC is an amazing place to experience the goodness of God through the faithfulness of His people. People who step into the hard things God calls them to do, giving of their time, talents, and treasure—even when it’s sacrificial. This kind of faithfulness has been a defining mark of our community.
So, how can we take these attributes and apply them to serving on Sundays? Each one of us is uniquely created and equipped with gifts designed to build up and strengthen the Body of Christ. Just like a physical body (1 Cor. 12:12-31), each member has a purpose and a function. But at CPC, serving isn’t about simply filling a void. It’s not about being a number, showing up, serving, and leaving without connection.
We want more for you. We have amazing leaders who are eager to welcome you, lead you, and love you well. Our goal is for everyone to find a place of service where you can bless others and, in turn, be blessed by the joy and growth that come from serving.
Whether it’s teaching our children, greeting guests, preparing meals for families, or comforting those mourning a loss, every act of service matters. No matter where you serve, we want you to experience a family environment—to know that you are loved and valued, not based on your level of commitment but simply because you belong here.
Why Serve?
Some of my most meaningful moments at CPC have come from serving alongside others. These moments have led to life-changing relationships, encouraging conversations, powerful prayers, and countless opportunities to minister. Serving on a team is life-giving. It connects us, grows us, and brings us closer to God and each other.
You might wonder, “How do we create this type of community and atmosphere?” It starts with fundamental principles. Relationships take time, but we serve a God who draws people to Himself and calls us to journey together as His children (2 Cor. 6:18). Let’s explore how we approach serving at CPC:
1. Service with Eternity in Mind
(Rev. 7:9-10)
Serving in the context of the church carries eternal significance. When we serve, we’re contributing to something far greater than ourselves. It’s about eternity—beginning with the end in mind.
2. One Body in Unity
(1 Cor. 12:12-31)
God designed His family to work together in unity, reflecting the essence of teamwork. We are one body, serving one God, with the shared mission of leading others to Jesus.
Serving on a team should feel like family. Team members are valued not only for their contributions but also for who they are as individuals. Our spiritual equality enables us to relate authentically and love one another deeply.
3. Self-Sacrifice
(Luke 9:23, Philippians 2:3)
Serving requires personal sacrifice. It’s about putting the needs of others above our own. At CPC, team members thrive on serving selflessly, willingly giving their time and energy for the good of the ministry and the people it serves. Self-sacrifice becomes a way of life.
4. God-Centered
(Matt. 22:37, John 15:1-10)
Ultimately, serving on a team is about keeping God at the center. He’s in the driver’s seat, charting the course. True success in ministry comes through obedience and dependence on Him. Christian teamwork is God-focused—it’s all about Him.
Find Your Place
At CPC, we long for everyone to discover their place of service. Whether it’s through small acts of kindness or larger commitments, every role matters. You’ll not only make an impact but also grow in your faith and relationships.
Serving is an opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself—to experience the joy of giving, the strength of unity, and the blessing of being used by God for His eternal purposes.
Are you ready to take the next step? Let’s serve together, grow together, and make a difference together at Connection Point Church.
