Volunteer Agreement
Dear CPC Ministry Leaders and Volunteers,
I want to begin by saying thank you. Each of you plays a vital role in the life of Connection Point Church. Week after week, you give your time, your energy, and your heart so that others can encounter Jesus. Your service matters more than you often see, and it is deeply valued. As we continue to grow as a church family, it’s important that we remain anchored in what matters most, not just what we do in ministry, but who we are as followers of Christ. Ministry is not simply about filling roles or meeting needs; it is about representing Jesus with integrity in every area of our lives.
Because of that, we are asking every ministry leader and volunteer to review and sign the Ministry Leader & Volunteer Commitment Form. This form is not about adding pressure or creating barriers. It is about clarity, unity, and alignment. It helps ensure that as we serve together, we are all committed to living out the gospel of Jesus Christ in both our public ministry and our private lives. It reflects our shared desire to honor God in how we live, how we lead, and how we love others.
Scripture reminds us in Colossians 3:17 that whatever we do, in word or deed, we do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus. This commitment simply puts language around that calling. It affirms what we believe, how we live, and how we represent Christ and His Church. It also helps protect the unity of our church. When we are aligned in doctrine, character, and conduct, we create a healthy environment where people can grow, be discipled, and encounter God in a real way.
Please understand this as a pastoral invitation, not just a requirement. My heart, and the heart of our leadership, is not perfection, but faithfulness. We recognize that we are all on a journey of becoming more like Christ. If there are areas of struggle or questions along the way, we want to walk with you, support you, and see you continue to grow.
At the same time, we also carry the responsibility of stewarding the ministry God has entrusted to us. Because of that, we ask each person serving at CPC to live and lead in a way that reflects the truth and grace of Jesus. As you read through the commitment form, take a moment to pray and reflect. Let it be more than a document, let it be a personal reaffirmation of your calling to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. Thank you again for who you are and for the way you serve. It is an honor to walk alongside you in what God is doing here at Connection Point Church.
With gratitude and care,
Pastor Jeff Carlson

My Faith and Commitment
I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior and I follow Him as the Lord of my life (Romans 10:9). I believe the Bible is God's Word, and I choose to follow what it teaches (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
As a ministry leader or volunteer at Connection Point Church (CPC), I will do my best to live and lead in a way that honors God. This includes how I act, speak, serve, and treat others—both in public and private (Colossians 3:17).
I understand the teachings of the Assemblies of God, found in the Statement of Fundamental Truths and the Position Papers and will not teach against them. I also agree with the Core Values/Culture of CPC and will live in a way that reflects those values (1 Corinthians 1:10).
How I Live Matters
I understand that my choices and behaviors could affect my ability to lead. These include:
Going against what the Bible teaches about right and wrong (Galatians 5:19–21)
Being dishonest with money or people (Proverbs 11:1)
Involvement in criminal activity (Romans 13:1–2)
Any kind of abuse or harassment (Micah 6:8)
If I make choices that go against what Scripture teaches, I understand that I may be asked to step down from my role.
How I Treat Others
I will do my best to build up the Church and bring unity, not division (Ephesians 4:3). I reject all forms of discrimination and will treat all people with love, respect, and kindness (Galatians 3:28).
What I Believe About Life and Gender
I believe that all human life is valuable—from conception until natural death—and I will do my best to treat everyone with dignity and care (Psalm 139:13–16).
I believe God created people as male and female (Genesis 1:27). I also believe that our gender, as God created it, is not just a personal choice—it’s part of who we are as God designed us (Jeremiah 1:5). I do not support the idea of choosing a gender that is different from one’s biological sex.
What I Believe About Marriage and Sexuality
I believe that both singleness and marriage are good and God-honoring choices (1 Corinthians 7:7–8). I believe marriage is meant to be between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4–6).
I believe that sex is a gift from God and is meant only for marriage. We are all called to live a life of sexual purity, in thoughts and actions (1 Thessalonians 4:3–5, Hebrews 13:4).
If My Beliefs Change
If, at any time, I can no longer follow what is written or I no longer support the teachings of Connection Point Church or the Assemblies of God, I will respectfully and honestly let the my ministry lead know and step down from my volunteer position (James 5:12). If my beliefs or lifestyle no longer agree with the teachings of Scripture or the values of Connection Point Church, I understand that I may be asked to step down from my role. I may also be asked to take part in a spiritual counseling process, with the goal of helping me be restored and grow stronger in my walk with Christ.
My Personal Commitment
As a ministry leader or volunteer at Connection Point Church, I affirm:
That I have read and understand this commitment form.
That I am aware of and understand the Assemblies of God:
Statement of Fundamental Truths - https://ag.org/Beliefs/Statement-of-Fundamental-Truths
Position Papers
CPC Culture - https://connectionpointchurch.org/our-mission-beliefs
That if my beliefs or lifestyle change in a way that no longer match this agreement, I will communicate that with leadership and step down if needed.
By joining a ministry team I understand that I am subject to be accountable to my team members, leaders, deacons and pastoral staff.
