Vision:  Leading people to become everyday disciple makers of Jesus

Everyday Disciple Makers

Abide Daily – Love Jesus and Others – Share the Good News – Give Selflessly – Serve Others

Abide Daily (John 15:4-5)
Extravagant daily time with Jesus—this is the center of abiding. Not legalism, not dry discipline, not manufactured spirituality, but joyous soaking in the presence of Jesus. Spending lavish time with Him who is most precious, the One from whom all life flows. Abiding is patient waiting in the presence of Jesus. Abiding is extravagant (concentrated) daily times with Jesus and all-day awareness. Abiding is constant communion in the midst of a crowded world and busy life and unique times of sweet, exclusive fellowship. In abiding, discipline leads to desire, which matures into delight.

Love Jesus and Others (Mark 12:30-31)

To love Jesus and others is to live an empowered life (Acts 1:8) fulfilling the “Great’s,” the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Empowerment is sought through Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 2:4). Loving God is expressed by spending time with Him through abiding, the first core value and by obeying the commands of Jesus (John 14:15). The great commission is fulfilled by sharing the Good News of Jesus, the third core value. Loving Jesus is expressed by loving neighbors and living in right relationship with everyone because you cannot be right with God, if you are not right with others (Matthew 5:24).

Share the Good News (Matthew 28:19-20)
From the beginning of Christianity, the natural overflow of being a disciple of Jesus has always been to make disciples of Jesus. “Follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). We are the plan of God for taking His story to all peoples, all nations, all tribes, and languages. There is no plan B! Our ambition as the church must be to share the Good News of Jesus where it has never been known. We share Good News through proclamation, by showing compassion to the world and serving as an advocate for the helpless (Luke 4:18).

Give Selflessly (2 Corinthians 8:3)
God blesses His people for the sake of the nations (Psalm 67:1-2). Giving selflessly reflects the heart of God who gave His only Son so that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:16-17). Giving is a matter of the heart (Luke 6:37-38) Giving selflessly is defined as giving faithfully (10%) and giving generously through Kingdom Builders. For more information on giving, click here.

Serve Others (Luke 9:24)
Jesus said, “If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it” (Luke 9:24). To experience the rich and satisfying life Jesus promises (John 10:10), you must serve others. Connection Point is not meant to be led by a small band of superheroes but by a large army of servants. Every volunteer position within the church is a link in the chain of someone coming to faith in Jesus Christ because the altar call starts in the parking lot. Every Christian is someone else’s priest and we are all priests to one another (1 Peter 2:9).
